CHARLES CAPPS SAY'S "FAITH IS STORED IN GOD'S WORD."

I AGREE WITH CHARLES. HOW ABOUT YOU. LET'S LOOK IN GOD'S WORD AND COME TO OUR OWN CONCLUSIONS.  WE WILL BE USING 90% SCRIPTURE AND less than 10% MAN'S THOUGHTS.  SO LET'S MAKE GOD'S WORD OUR MAIN OBJECTIVE.  WE CAN STAND ON GOD'S WORD.

EDWIN COLE SAYS : "KNOW GOD'S WORD. HE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS HIS WORD."

Proverbs 3:5 [Trust] in the LORD with all your heart, and [[ lean not on your own understanding; ]] (NKJ)

THAT CAN BE TOUGH.  BUT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT, SO READ IT AGAIN----

DUMP YOUR THOUGHTS AND PUT GOD'S THOUGHTS IN YOUR MIND!!  HOW ??

THROUGH THE READING AND HEARING OF HIS WORD WE WILL DEVELOP AND GROW IN THE LORD.

NOW LET'S SPEND SOME TIME IN THE NEW TESTAMENT. JESUS SPEAKING TO HIS DISCIPLES IN MATTHEW CHAPTER 17 VERSE 20 SAYING .........

20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

THAT WAS THE (NKJ) NOW THE SAME VERSE IN THE LIVING BIBLE-- Matt 17:20

20 b.. Jesus told them. "I assure you, even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible." (NLT)

JESUS TEACHING THE DISCIPLES GOES ON TO SAY IN Matt 18:19

19 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. (NKJ)

AGAIN JESUS TEACHING HIS DISCIPLES THIS VERSE FROM THE LIVING BIBLE Matt 21:21

21 Then Jesus told them, "I assure you, if you have faith and don't doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, 'May God lift you up and throw you into the sea,' and it will happen. (NLT)

MOUNTAIN MOVING FAITH [[ IF ]]    YOU DON'T DOUBT.

NOW AGAIN IN THE THE NEXT GOSPEL MARK CHAPTER 9 AND DOWN TO VERSE 23

23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, [[ all things are possible ]] to him who believes." (NKJ)

AND MOVING AHEAD TWO CHAPTERS.....Mark 11:23

23 "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever [[ says ]] to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he [[ says ]] will come to pass, he will have whatever he [[ says ]]

THE LORD POINTED OUT TO KENNETH HAGIN THAT THIS VERSE MENTIONS [[ BELIEVE ]] ONCE AND [[ SAYS ]] THREE TIMES.. SPEAKING TO THE PROBLEM OR WHATEVER, MUST BE VERY IMPORTANT TO GOD....

IF WE ARE STANDING IN FAITH ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD AT TIMES WE MAY WANT TO SPEAK IT OUT LOUD, VOCALIZE WHAT WE ARE STANDING IN FAITH BELIEVING FOR.

Mark 11:24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, [[ believe that you receive them, and you will have them. ]] (NKJ)

NEXT GOSPEL LUKE -- THESE VERSES THAT WE ARE LOOKING AT IN THE GOSPELS ARE QUOTE, UNQUOTE JESUS SPEAKING. IN SOME BIBLES THESE VERSES ARE IN RED LETTERS.

Luke 17:6 So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you. (NKJ)

-  ><>  -  ><>  -   -  <><  -  <><  -

NOW ON TO THE NEXT GOSPEL

John 14:14  "If you ask [[ anything ]] in My name, I will do it. (NKJ)

John 15:7  "If you [[ abide in Me,]] [[ and My words abide in you,]] you will ask what you desire, and [[ it shall be done for you. ]] (NKJ)

John 16:23 "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. (NKJ)

THESE ARE VERY POWERFUL PROMISES THAT WE HAVE JUST GONE OVER

Galatians 5:6 b. but faith working through love. (NKJ)

NOTICE FAITH AND LOVE ARE INTERCONNECTED

1 Timothy 6:12 a.. Fight the good fight of faith, (NKJ)

APPARENTLY THE THINGS WE ARE BELIEVING GOD FOR ARE NOT GOING TO JUST DROP IN OUR LAP EVERY TIME. THERE ARE GOING TO BE INSTANCES IN YOURS AND MY LIFE WHEN WE WILL NEED TO TAKE A STAND. IT IS A BATTLE.

BUT GOD'S WORD SAYS, WE ARE THE WINNERS---- " WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERS " ROMANS 8:37

Hebrews 11:1 Now [[ faith is ]] the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

WE DON'T HAVE TO GO TO THE DICTIONARY FOR THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD FAITH. GOD DEFINED WHAT FAITH IS RIGHT HERE...

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God [[ must believe ]] that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (NKJ)

EVERYONE WANTS TO PLEASE GOD. AMEN!

James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. (NKJ)

DON'T BE A DOUBTER. DON'T BE TOSSED. DON'T BE MOVED. STAND IN FAITH ON THE WORD..

James 2:20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that  faith without works is dead? (NKJ)

THE PRAYER OF FAITH

James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. (NKJ)

BEFORE YOU PRAY THE PRAYER OF FAITH PURPOSE IN YOUR HEART THAT YOU ARE NOT GOING TO WAIVER. YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE A STAND WITHOUT DOUBTING GOD.

James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. (NKJ)

AND VERSE 15 TELLS US WHAT THE RESULTS WILL BE.

James 5:15 And [[ the prayer of faith will ]] save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (NKJ)

HERE IS A FAITH PROMISE -- THE PRAYER OF FAITH WILL - SAVE THE SICK

SO FAR WE HAVE QUOTED SCRIPTURES. LET'S CHANGE DIRECTION A LITTLE BIT AND GO TO SOME EXAMPLES. BIBLE  FAITH .. EXAMPLES

THE WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD

Matthew 9:20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment.

21 For she said to herself, "If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well." (NKJ)   THAT IS FAITH TALKING

Matt 9:22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, "Be of good cheer, daughter; your [[ faith]] has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour. (NKJ)

ROY HICKS SAYS "FAITH THAT BELIEVES IS FAITH THAT APPROPRIATES."

STAYING IN CHAPTER 9, DROPPING DOWN TO THE 27TH VERSE, WE READ A STORY ABOUT A BLIND MEN

Matt 9:27 When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, "Son of David, have mercy on us!"

28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." (NKJ)

TAKE NOTE, THIS MAN DIDN'T COME UP WITH ANY ELOQUENT SPEECH OR ELABORATE SAYING.  HE JUST SAID "YES LORD"

Matt 9:29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, [["According to your faith ]] let it be to you." (NKJ)

30a And their eyes were opened. (NKJ)

-  ><>  -  ><>  -   -  <><  -  <><  -

ANOTHER  JESUS STORY  THIS TIME IN THE GOSPEL OF LUKE

Luke 7:2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die. (NKJ)

HOW ABOUT THIS, YOU HAVE TO BE CONSIDERABLY SICK TO BE READY TO DIE.

3 So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant. (NKJ)

WHEN IT GETS DOWN TO THE POINT OF LIFE OR DEATH, YOU CAN GET VERY SERIOUS WITH GOD.

Luke 7:6 Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof. (NKJ)

verse 7 "Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But [[ say the word, and my servant will be healed. ]] (NKJ)

THE CENTURION EXPLAINS IN THE NEXT VERSE

8 "For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." (NKJ)

JESUS LIKED THE FAITH WORDS COMING OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE CENTURION DIDN'T HE??

JUST SAY THE WORD VERSE 7 SAYS --- BECAUSE WE READ IN VERSE 9

9 When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, "I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!" (NKJ)

10 And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick. (NKJ)

THE JOBS DONE.  JESUS FOUND FAITH PRESENT

ANOTHER BLIND MAN ANOTHER JESUS STORY

Luke 18:35 Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging.

Luke 18:38 And he cried out, saying, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" (NKJ)

Luke 18:41 saying, "What do you want Me to do for you?" And he said, "Lord, that I may receive my sight."

42 Then Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; [[ your faith ]] has made you well." (NKJ)

WHAT HAS DONE IT? YOUR FAITH ----- WHAT DID JESUS SAY ACCOMPLISHED THE JOB? THE VERSE SAYS HERE, QUOTE JESUS, "YOUR FAITH"

43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God. (NKJ)

I LIKE THAT WORD IMMEDIATELY, DON'T YOU? BINGO, IT'S A DONE DEAL.

-  ><>  -  ><>  -   -  <><  -  <><  -

 >> AFTER JESUS <<  DID FAITH REMAIN IN THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE? FOR THE ANSWER TO THAT WE WILL GO TO THE BOOK OF ACTS THE CHURCH AGE

Acts 3:2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;

3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.

4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us."

5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

6 Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, [[ rise up and walk." ]]

7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. (NKJ)

HERE COMES THAT WONDERFUL WORD IMMEDIATELY AGAIN

8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them-- walking, leaping, and praising God. (NKJ)

PETER EXPLAINS HOW THIS WAS ABLE TO HAPPEN IN VERSE 16 Acts 3:16

16 "And His name, [[ through faith in His name, ]] has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of [ you all.]

HEY, I WONDER IF THAT IS WHERE THE SOUTHERNERS GOT THE EXPRESSION [ YOU ALL ] FROM. "IN THE PRESENCE OF YOU ALL"

PETER TELLS THEM, DOESN'T HE? HE, PETER, MAKES IT SIMPLE -- "THROUGH FAITH IN HIS NAME"

PAUL  IN LYSTRA

Acts 14:8 And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. (NKJ)

NOTE THE LAST TWO WORDS, "NEVER WALKED." THIS VERSE SAYS HE IS A MAN NOW.

9 This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed,

10 said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!" And he leaped and walked. (NKJ)    PRAISE THE LORD!!!

-  ><>  -  ><>  -   -  <><  -  <><  -

NOW FOLKS, WE ARE OF THE CHURCH AGE. WE ARE THE CHURCH AGE THAT IS LIVING TODAY. PETER SAID TO THE LAME MAN ACTS 3:6, "IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST RISE UP AND WALK," AND VERSE 8 SAYS, "SO HE LEAPING UP STOOD AND WALKED." WORDS OF FAITH ARE FOR THE CHURCH AGE TODAY.....Heb 11:1

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible (NKJ).

-  ><>  -  ><>  -   -  <><  -  <><  -

GREAT MEN AND WOMEN OF FAITH

Hebrews 11:4 By faith [[ Abel ]] offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.

5 By faith [[ Enoch ]] was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

7 By faith [[ Noah, ]] being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

8 By faith [[ Abraham ]] obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;

10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11 By faith [[ Sarah ]] herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude-- innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. (NKJ)

Heb 11:17 By faith [[ Abraham, ]] when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

18 of whom it was said, "In Isaac your seed shall be called,"

19 concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense. (NKJ)

James 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?

22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?

23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God.

24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. (NKJ)

Hebrews 11:20 By faith [[ Isaac ]] blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

21 By faith [[ Jacob, ]] when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.

22 By faith [[ Joseph, ]] when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.

23 By faith [[ Moses, ]] when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's command.

24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter,

25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,

26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.

27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.

28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.

30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.

31 By faith the harlot [[ Rahab ]] did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. (NKJ)

James 2:25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? (NKJ)

Hebrews 11:32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of [[ Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: ]]

33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

35 Women received their dead raised to life again. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.

36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.

37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented--

38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.

39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise,

40 God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us. (NKJ)

THIS IS BY HAROLD F. MOHN -- WITHOUT TRUE FAITH*

WITHOUT TRUE FAITH YOU ARE LIKE A SHIP TOSSED IN A STORM AT SEA, NOT KNOWING WHAT MAY BE YOUR COURSE AND LOST MOST HOPELESSLY. TRUE FAITH WILL WEATHER EVERY STORM, THOUGH DARK MAY BE YOUR PLIGHT. IT WILL DISPEL DESPAIR AND GLOOM, AND HELP YOUR FEARS ALLAY. TRUE FAITH WILL BRING YOU STRENGTH ANEW, TO FACE EACH DAWNING DAY.

Faith story:  Two frogs fell into a deep cream bowl, one was an optimistic soul, but the other took the gloomy view.  “We’ll drown,” he cried, without more ado, and with a lasting despairing cry, he flung up his legs and said good-by.  Quote the other frog with steadfast grin, “I can’t get out, but I won’t give in.  I’ll just swim around till my strength is spent, then I’ll die the more content.  Bravely he swam to work his scheme, and his struggles began to churn the cream.  The more he swam, his legs a flutter, the more the cream turned to butter.  On top of the butter at last he stopped, and out of the bowl he gaily hopped.  When is the moral?  It’s easily found, if you can’t hop out keep swimming around!
